Many of our early childhood and elementary classrooms are in need of parent volunteers. Volunteers are also often needed for the Lower School Library, field trips, or special activities or events at school.
The School Parent Council asks each year for parents to volunteer as a “Room Parent,” to help facilitate communication between parents and from the SPC.
The SPC also seeks parent volunteers for special events it sponsors, such as the Back-to-School Kick-Off (in September) and Field Day (in June). Those events cannot be put on without parent volunteers!!
Do you have an interesting job? Fun hobby? Please let your child’s know about your area of expertise. We would love to have you come in to share your knowledge with our classrooms.

Because schedules can be busy and because parents and guardians who want to be involved in their child’s school are not always available for evening meetings or to visit a classroom, we suggest considering other ways to volunteer at the Kilmer such as:

- Contacting other families with Parent Council announcements or help requests
- Writing grant proposals
- Helping at Kilmer Clean-Up Day (held on a Saturday in the spring)
- Collecting Boxtops For Education ™
- Soliciting donations for fundraiser raffles
- Making community partnership contacts with outside organizations
- Other, specific help with activity/event planning or logistics
