Field trips are an important part of a child’s education. They build background knowledge and sustain curiosity and passion for the world around us. Each grade level typically takes one field trip aligned to the curriculum each year. Additional trips are scheduled as the opportunity arises. Parents will be notified in advance of field trips, and will be asked to sign a permission slip for participation, as well as a health form in case emergency treatment is required. Parents or guardians may be asked to be chaperones by their child’s teacher. If you wish to chaperone on a field trip, you will have to have a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check completed at least two weeks prior to the field trip. The CORI process includes completing the CORI form and visiting the main office at either the upper or lower campus to have your identification validated. Contact the main office with questions about the CORI process.
